I have always loved the movie "Hidden Figures". It is such a powerful film for women and especially women of color. I actually discovered this book while reading a discussion post for my EED 608 class. I immediately purchased it on Amazon to add to my classroom library!
This book is a 2019 Coretta Scott King Honor Book and upon reading it is easy to see why! This book offers beautiful illustrations that highlight the genius and how amazing these ladies truly were. This book also does a great job at explaining the difficult subject of segregation and why it was so amazing that these women overcame their adversity and worked the important jobs they did. I highly recommend this book!

ReplyDeleteI have never read the story, Hidden Figures, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! It will make you cry and be proud of the strong women in History that have opened many doors for women in our society, especially for women of color. I cannot wait to read this book, as if it is anything like the movie, I know it will be wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
